B’desh Asstt High Commissioner visits Maitri Setu

Sabroom, Oct 20: A delegation of Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala led by Assistant High Commissioner Arif Mohammad visited the Indo-Bangla Maitri Setu, Integrated Check-post and Special Economic Zone at Sabroom on Thursday.
During his visit, Arif Mohammad was accompanied by Mohammad Rezaul Haq- First Secretary and another First Secretary Mohammad Al-Amin.
BSF's 96-BN Commandant Lala Krishna Kumar Lal welcomed the delegation when they reached Sabroom on Thursday morning.
The delegation was supposed to go to Bangladesh but the BSF could not allow them due to legal complications.
However, the Assistant High Commissioner visited the zero point on the bridge and held conversations with the officials working on the ICP in the Bangladesh side.
Later, he inspected the ICP construction site at Sabroom and spoke to the officials of the concerned companies engaged in the construction.
The delegation inspected the geographical location of the Special Economic Zone.
Expressing his opinion, the Assistant High Commissioner said that there is a huge business potential between the Northeast region of India and Bangladesh in future utilizing the Maitri Setu. Which will help Bangladesh to prosper, he opined.
DCM Manoj Prabhakar Pal accompanied the Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh on behalf of Sabroom sub-division administration.
