Agartala/Charilam Dec 04: A delegation of state leaders of All India Krishak Sabha led by state secretary of the organization, Pabitra Kar met the family of deceased Sahid Mia on Sunday.
Pabitra Kar alleged the deadly violence in Charilam was a glaring example of the fascist- style rule in the state of Tripura under BJP-led government in which the Constitution is not working anymore.
Tension flared in Tripura after a long time CPI-M activist Sahid Mia (75) was killed in the clashes between BJP and CPI-M at Charilam on November 30.
"Shaid Miah was murdered by the people of the ruling party in broad day light in the presence of hundreds of people," he alleged.
Terming the killing barbaric, Sarkar claimed that the body was "snatched away" from his family, who were waiting outside the morgue, and taken to his native village Aralia in Bishalgarh by the police at the behest of the state cabinet.
Kar appealed to the people of the state to unite irrespective of their political beliefs to "liberate Tripura from the misrule".
"Those who respect democracy and believe in secularism must come together to end the autocratic style of rule in the state," he said.
The family members of the deceased also demand appropriate punishment of the criminals responsible for Sahid Mia’s death more than any help or compensation, he added.
Kar also said that the issue will be raised in the upcoming convention of All India Krishak Sabha and the party will ensure that Sahid Mia and his family gets proper justice.
