Kailashahar, Feb 12: The annual Chaturdasha Debata Puja and Fair was held on Maghi Purnima at the Chaturdasha Debata Temple in Khowrabill, under Gournagar Block. 

Minister Tinku Roy inaugurated the event on Wednesday. Thousands of devotees from across the state gathered at the temple to witness the fair.

Devotees tied ribbons to the sacred banyan tree as a symbol of their wishes, while those whose wishes were fulfilled offered sarees and sweets. The temple management sold khichuri containers for Rs 50 to support temple development, while prasad distribution began at noon.

Former MP Rebati Tripura, Unakoti Zilla Parishad Chairperson Amolendu Das, Kailashahar Municipal Council Chairperson Chapala Rani Debroy and others attended the programme. 

Addressing the gathering, Minister Tinku Roy spoke about the significance of Sanatan Hindu traditions.
