Agartala, Dec 30: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday asked the clubs and social organizations to strengthen the fight against drugs.

The Chief Minister, who inaugurated Sharad Samman programme organized by the Agartala Municipal Corporation at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan, also said that the clubs have a major role towards building healthy society.

Dr. Saha also appreciated the role of various clubs and puja organizers for making this year’s Durga Puja successful.

The Agartala Municipal Corporation awarded 21 Clubs in various categories with attractive trophies.

Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Mayor of AMC Dipak Majumder, social activist Rajib Bhattacharjee and other dignitaries were present in the programme.

Four wards of the AMC were given awards for Swachata; ward no-37 of South Zone was adjudged as the best in this category.
