Clubs play role like mini-government, says Tripura CM

Agartala, Sept 04: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday said, the clubs play the role like mini government.
Addressing a blood donation camp organized by Haradhan Sangha in Agartala, he said, “The clubs play a major role, like mini government in building a health society.”
He urged the clubs to keep an eye on the youths who are addicted to drugs and involve the youngsters in clubs for social cause.
According to Dr. Saha, most of the people who are involved with clubs are well-established and involvement of people with good intellect in clubs helps a society progress.
He also said, the culture of forceful collection of money by clubs in case of sale of land in the respective area needs to be ended-- Someone may donate but forcing anybody for giving money is not accepted.
The Chief Minster said, the state government would not compromise with any law and order issue.
MLA Surajit Datta, Mayor Dipak Majumder, secretary of Agartala Press Club Pranab Sarkar and the club members were present. Around 35 people donated blood in the camp.
