Agartala Feb 13: The Animal Resources Development Department has been observing a month-long Animal Husbandry and Animal Welfare Awareness Month from January 14 to February 13 2025.

Thursday, on the concluding day, an awareness camp was organized at the State Veterinary Hospital and Polyclinic, Abhoynagar. The camp focused on Anti Rabies Vaccination, the ABC Program for Street Dogs, and the AW Act.

The awareness camp saw active participation and was a notable success. Around 30 dogs were sterilized during the event, marking a significant effort towards controlling the population of street dogs and ensuring their welfare.

The initiative aimed to educate the public on the importance of animal welfare and promote responsible animal husbandry practices.

The Animal Resources Development Department expressed its gratitude to all the participants and volunteers who contributed to the success of this month-long campaign.

Animal NGOs like Pawsome and K-Nine also took part in the initiative.
