Agartala Feb 13: The Traffic Department, Municipal Corporation, and Police Department have been jointly conducting drives against illegal parking and street vending in Agartala city over the past few days.

On Thursday, a similar drive was conducted across several key areas, including Post Office Chowmani, Kaman Chowmani, and Netaji Chowmani.

Talking to the reporters, Additional SP Traffic Sudambika R said, “The initiative aims to clear up the city streets, ensuring smooth traffic flow and maintaining public order. The collaborative efforts of these departments have already led to significant progress in reducing unauthorized activities that cause congestion and inconvenience to the residents of Agartala”.

“Our aim is to make the citizens aware and responsible for the benefit of the masses. Fines are imposed on those who lack proper documents and are not following rules under the Motor Vehicle Act”, she added.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to continuing these efforts to promote a safer and more organized urban environment.
