Udaipur, Sept 19: The Udaipur District Congress Committee staged a protest on Thursday, joining the nationwide movement led by Congress against derogatory remarks made about senior leader Rahul Gandhi. The protest was in response to alleged offensive comments and death threats directed at the opposition leader by members of the BJP and its allies.
The demonstration, organized by the district Congress, was led by Udaipur District Congress President, Titan Pal, along with Block Congress Presidents, Nitya Gopal Saha and Ranjit Debnath, and OBC leader, Pralhad Ghosh.
The Congress leaders accused BJP ministers, legislators, and other leaders of making "distasteful and threatening" remarks towards Rahul Gandhi. They demanded strict legal action against those responsible for the statements. During the protest, effigies of the accused BJP leaders were burned as a symbolic act of condemnation.
