Congress’ rally attacked in Santirbazar; Police registers case against 11 BJP activists

Santirbazar Nov 27: Police of Santirbazar police station registered case against ruling party activists for deliberately creating violence in opposition political party rallies and also for obstructing police from doing their duty.
According to the details, an atmosphere of unrest was created by the ruling party activists centring a rally of opposition Congress in Santirbazar last Friday.
To control the situation, Santirbazar police initiated lathi charge following which some members of the ruling party were injured.
Later, BJP activists organized a protest in front of the SDPO office demanding transfer of Santirbazar police station OC.
OC of Santirbazar police station pointed out that nobody is above the law and law is equal for all.
He further clarified that police resorted to lathi-charge to protect the people and the police will continue to work for the safety of people in the future.
Later, a case was taken against 11 people of the ruling party under the initiative of Santirbazar Police Station OC Anupam Das under sections 120 (B) / 148 / 149 / 353 / 332 / 325 / 506 / IPC, 8 (B) of NH Act and 82 of TP Act was registered in Santirbazar Police Station under Case No. 29/2022.
SI Kanu Ranjan Deb of Santirbazar Police Station has been assigned the responsibility of this case.
