Agartala March 28: The CPI-M state leadership on Friday paid tribute to the courage and sacrifice of three brave warriors, Kumari, Madhuti, Rupasree with profound respect and dignity.
The prime event took place at the state CPI-M headquarters, Agartala, where top leaders of the party gathered to observe the day.
CPI-M state secretary Jitendra Choudhury along with other leaders led the ceremony by placing wreaths at the martyr’s altar.
Talking to the reporters, MLA Choudhury presented a detailed account of the biography and history of the brave girls, shedding light on their remarkable contributions.
The commemoration extended beyond Agartala, as the martyrdom day was observed with equal reverence in other parts of the state, including Khowai.
It is noteworthy that until 2018, the CPI(M) marked this day with various programs and rallies. However, following their ouster from power, the celebrations have been scaled down for various reasons. This year was no exception, yet the spirit of remembrance and respect remained unwavering.
