CPI-M’s mega rally at Agartala to set campaign for 2023 polls

Agartala, Oct 20: Eyeing on the 2023 crucial assembly elections in Tripura and also to set up the party’s campaign for the election, the opposition CPI-M party left no stone unturned to become the first party in the state to begin mega party rally here at Agartala Vivekananda Ground, six days before the visit of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the state.
As the preparation was in full swing for today’s mega rally, the senior party member and former minister of the then Left front government Pabitra Kar on Thursday hoped that the rally would witness major participation of the people of all walks of life.
He said, “We have a report that people from some parts of the state who are contacting us to join the rally are facing some obstacles and are being restricted from landing in Agartala for their participation in the mega rally.”
Adequate number of volunteers are inducted to accompany the party workers to tackle the mass gathering, he said.
Earlier, the CPI-M state secretary Jitendra Chowdhury said that the main objective of the public meeting is to highlight the BJP’s tactics of befooling people and its failures ahead of the 2023 assembly polls.
CPI-M all India general secretary and also the party’s politburo member Sitaram Yechury accompanied by the leader of opposition Manik Sarkar and other party leaders would address the mega rally on Thursday.
