Belonia, Dec 30: CPI(M) leaders in Belonia staged a protest rally and meeting on Monday, demanding the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah over derogatory remarks allegedly made about Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
The rally organized by the CPI(M) Belonia Sub-Division Committee, began from the party office and traversed through various streets of the town before culminating at the meeting venue at No. 1 Tilla. Senior CPI(M) leader Basudeb Majumder presided over the meeting.
Key CPI(M) leaders present at the event included Sudhan Das, a member of the party's state committee secretariat, Bijay Tilak, Belonia Sub-Division Secretary, Tapas Dutta, South District Secretary, labor leader, Trilokesh Sinha, and Babul Debnath, Sub-Division Secretary of the Kisan Sabha, among others.
Speakers at the meeting strongly condemned the alleged remarks and emphasized the need to protect Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy. They accused the BJP-led government of undermining constitutional values and raised slogans for Shah’s resignation.
