Days of insurgency should never return in Tripura: MoS

Charilam Nov 05: People of Golaghati witnessed the horrible days of insurgency during the Left Front regime. People were evicted and killed, said Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik and cautioned people to remain alert so that such days never come back.
The MoS said considering the long-standing demand of the people of the Golaghati Assembly constituency, a Rural Development Block will be set up in Golaghati.
Pratima Bhowmik, on the second day of her ‘One night, One Mandal’programme reached Golaghati Mandal on Saturday after attending in organizational programmes at Kamalasagar Mandal.
In the evening, she took part in Padayatra at Sadaramhaiti under Golaghati along with other party leaders. After Padayatra, she attended the ‘Vijay Sankalp’ rally at Golaghati bazaar.
Addressing the gatherings, the MoS highlighted Central government schemes as well as initiatives of the State government for the overall development of the people of the State.
“The BJP government sanctioned houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to three lakh families in Tripura in four and a half years. Three lakh three thousand families got toilets free of cost. Agricultural machinery was provided free of cost”, Bhowmik said. She also mentioned the hike in social pension, paddy procurement, Saubhagya yojana for getting electricity, Ujjwala Yojana for free of cost gas connection etc.
