Development is Not Possible Without Improved Infrastructure: Sushanta

Agartala Dec 07: At the regional workshop titled “Infrastructure in the North-East of India: Challenges and Way Forward,” held on Saturday at Sukanta Academy in Agartala, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury emphasized the pivotal role of infrastructure in the overall development of the state.
The event was organized by the Building Congress in collaboration with the Tripura Government's Public Works Department, Rural Development Department, Urban Development Department, and Agartala Municipal Corporation.
Minister Chowdhury underscored the current government's prioritization of infrastructure improvement, asserting that the state's development hinges on these advancements.
He acknowledged the crucial contributions of engineers, stating that the progress of infrastructure is largely driven by their expertise. The engineers in the state are actively implementing various decisions made by both the state and central governments to ensure effective infrastructure development.
Highlighting the strides made under the current administration, Minister Chowdhury noted that previously, the state had only one national highway, National Highway No. 44.
Chowdhury said, "The current government has announced the development of six new national highways, with funds being allocated for these projects. These highways are expected to significantly bolster the state's infrastructure, thereby facilitating comprehensive development”, he said.
He underlined the administration's commitment to creating robust infrastructure as a foundation for sustainable growth and prosperity in the North-East region of India.
