Durga Puja subscription: Strict orders passed to police stations, says DGP

Agartala, Sept 28: Tripura police chief Amitabh Ranjan on Saturday said that strict orders have been passed to all police station regarding Durga Puja subscription.
He said, swift and firm action would be taken in case of any complaint related to forced collection of puja subscription. He emphasized the importance of maintaining vigilance and ensuring that such activities are controlled effectively.
Speaking to the media at Lefunga police station, the Tripura Police is fully prepared to ensure a peaceful and smooth Durga Puja festival, which is scheduled to commence in second week of October.
The Director General of Police has been conducting inspections of various police stations across the state, focusing on their infrastructure, internal affairs, and law and order management in the respective areas.
As part of this initiative, he visited the Lefunga Police Station on Saturday, accompanied by West Tripura District Superintendent of Police Dr. Kiran Kumar K, Additional Superintendent of Police Dhruva Nath, Lefunga Officer-in-Charge Sahadeb Das, and others.
During a press briefing, the DGP praised the efforts of the Lefunga police in maintaining law and order and ensuring social harmony in the area. He further noted that inspections are being carried out across the state's police stations to assess their infrastructure, internal matters, and overall law and order situation.
He also mentioned that recent elections in the state were conducted peacefully, with any minor incidents being promptly addressed by the police.
