Agartala, July 22: The youth body of the opposition CPI-M party – DYFI on Friday announced mass agitation programme against unemployment in the country. The DYFI national secretary Himagna Raj Bhattacharjee said that the state of Tripura will join the agitation and intensify movement against the BJP government over the growing unemployment in the state.
Addressing a press conference here at Agartala on Friday Himagna Raj Bhattacharjee said, “When the term double-engine government is being used, it simply means intensification of unemployment rate in any state. At a time when PM Modi had announced 10 lakhs jobs in various government departments during the next 1.5 years, the government had introduced the Agnipath scheme, which is a crushing blow to scores of military aspirants.”
“The situation is same here in Tripura, where the BJP before coming to power had announced for 50000 jobs in a year, but the unemployment rate is gradually growing due to the complete failure of the government in Tripura,” he alleged, adding that the BJP might have changed its chief minister in wake of the ensuing assembly election, but the ideology of the BJP has not been changed yet.
He however said that the DYFI’s central committee had decided to mobilize youths across the country for a parliament march on November 3 next, as part of agitation against unemployment. In addition to this the DYFI also streamlined a campaign programme from August 1 to September 10 next asking about the role of the BJP government towards employment.
The state unit along with rest of the units of the DYFI across the state will also join the mass agitation programme in the coming days aiming to put pressure on the government over unemployment.
