Agartala Feb 21: In a significant move aimed at boosting educational infrastructure in the state, the government has approved the establishment of a Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) at the PTI College campus in Bandowar, Udaipur. State Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy hailed the government’s decision as he inspected the site on Friday.
Addressing the reporters, Minister Roy expressed his long-standing ambition to establish a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Udaipur, dating back to 2013.
He highlighted that previous efforts were thwarted due to a lack of cooperation from the former government.
“However, with the determined and sincere efforts of the current double engine government, the project has finally received the green light. The approved site for the permanent establishment of the school is within the CRPF camp in Bandowar, Udaipur”, he said.
The minister added, “The new Kendriya Vidyalaya will initially operate from the PTI College campus. This temporary arrangement will remain in place until the construction of the permanent school building is completed”.
During his visit, Minister Roy, accompanied by key officials including the District Magistrate (DM), Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Gomati, PWD, DWS Executive Engineer, SDM of Udaipur, Kendriya Vidyalaya staff, and officials of District Polytechnic College, inspected and assessed the readiness of the temporary facilities at PTI College.
The finance minister emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, "I believe this initiative will open new horizons in the field of education in Udaipur and Gomti district."
“The Kendriya Vidyalaya at PTI College campus marks a significant step towards achieving this goal, promising a brighter future for the students of Udaipur”, he added.
