Agartala Sept 16: Family of Dipa Das has accused the doctors at GBP Hospital Agartala of negligence following her untimely death.
Patient Dipa Das, a 20-year-old girl, resident of Ranirbazar area, passed away on Monday under circumstances that her family believes could have been avoided.
Talking to the reporters, one of the family members of the deceased informed that Dipa was studying at a government college in Agartala and was admitted to GBP hospital on Wednesday last week.
Detected with a tumor in her right breast, Dipa was operated by the doctors at GBP Hospital on Friday last.
According to the family member, “Doctors informed us that the operation was successful and Dipa also returned to her senses. We also visited her at the Post Operative Ward (Female). But all of a sudden, we received a call on Monday and were informed that she passed away”.
“On being asked about what actually happened to our daughter, the doctors could not specify any reason and only after autopsy the reason can be known. We also asked for the patient file, but the hospital authorities including the doctor refused to provide us the patient file”, he added.
Amidst their grief, the family members have raised stern allegations of negligence against the hospital including the doctors and sought answers and accountability.
