Fish allegedly killed by poisoning pond, owner struggles for justice

Dharmanagar, June 18: A resident of Ward No. 3 of Bishnupur Gram Panchayat, Kshitish Das has been having a land dispute with some locals in Bishnupur village. Das revealed that despite approaching the police multiple times, he has not received any relief. Das now alleges that some of these locals, in an attempt to silence him, have poisoned his pond, killing his fish and causing him financial loss.
Das has named Manthu Nath, Mahit Nath, Rinku Nath, Tinku Nath, Bhuban Nath, and Chinu Nath as the accused. He estimates that the value of the dead fish is between ₹25,000 and ₹30,000.
After witnessing the incident in the morning, Das informed the members of Bishnupur Panchayat, prominent people of the area, and even Zilla Parishad member and North Tripura BJP President Kajal Das about the fish deaths. Das alleged that he approached Kadamtala Police Station but did not receive any fair justice. Finally, he has turned to journalists in hopes of getting justice.
