Agartala Nov 30: Tripura Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday expelled former MLA Arun Chandra Bhowmik for six years for ‘anti- party’ activities.
A press release issued on behalf of the party read, “Following the violation of party principles, values, ideologies and for conducting anti- party activities, Arun Chandra Bhowmik, former MLA and invited member of State Committee has been expelled from the party for six years”.
This came after the former MLA visited Pradesh Congress headquarters in the capital city earlier this week and openly alleged the ruling BJP for being “undisciplined”.
Reporters spotted Arun Chandra Bhowmik outside the TPCC headquarters here when he said, “There is no discipline within the BJP party. Common people have lost faith in the party. also, the both present and former chief ministers are incapable of running the government smoothly”.
On the other hand, Arun Bhowmik’s statements further cleared his intentions of joining the Congress in coming days.
