FRCLE conducts training on Low Cost Vermicomposting Techniques

Agartala, Nov 10: The Forest Research Center for Livelihood Extension (FRCLE), Agartala organized a training programme at Gandhigram office on Thursday.
The training programme started with welcome address by Niren Das, ACTO and Training Co-ordinator, FRCLE, Agartala followed by the introduction of 16 participants.
The participants were from different villages of South Tripura district.
Das delivered a detailed presentation on vermicomposting and mentioned that there is a growing realization now that the adoption of economical, eco-friendly and sustainable farming practices can improve productivity and contribute to environmental protection.
The hands-on training programme and practical demonstration were conducted. The technical details on Vermicomposting techniques involving construction of bamboo vermicomposting unit and its establishment using locally available resources were practically demonstrated by Sameer Acharjee, Master Trainer.
Eisenia fetida, the preferred and suitable earth worms is also added in newly established vermicompost production unit. The participants expressed their satisfaction and desired more such training programmes in future.
An interaction session was also held with the participants and taken participants’ feedback. Training on Vermicomposting comes to an end with valedictory address by Arunav Banerjee Chief Guest, In-Charge (skill development), CIPET:CSTS, Agartala and distribution of certificates to the participants.
