Agartala, Dec 05: The Gomati district level second Gajaraj festival was held at Amarpur under the district on Monday.

In order to mark the festival, the Forest Department has organized various programmes including awareness campaigns, street plays and competitive sports in the sub-division for the past few days. 

Besides, a rally was also organized in Amarpur town on Monday. MLA Ranjit Das flagged off the rally from Chandibari in Amarpur. 

Amarpur Nagar Panchayat Chairman Bikas Saha, Gomati District Forest Officer Dr. Niraj Kumar Chanchal, the Sub-division Forest Officer Yashpal Debbarma and others were present in the event. 

Students of different schools of the subdivision also took part in the rally.
