Teliamura, Mar 27: Police have arrested the prime accused and three others in connection with the March 22 gunfire incident at Kuisyar Tilla in Teliamura. 

The firearm used in the attack, a China-made pistol, was also recovered.

According to police, Abhijit Das (27) from South Pulinpur allegedly stormed his in-laws’ house and fired two rounds at his wife, Rupa Das, over marital disputes. However, no one was injured in the injury. 

After investigation, police arrested Abhijit from a secret location under R.K. Pur police station and his three associates- Arabindu Namashudra (28), Kaushik Ghosh (23) and Ron Das (24), from an undisclosed hideout in Amtali.

Based on Abhijit’s confession, the weapon was recovered from the Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary with the help of Bishalgarh police.
