Agartala Aug 31: Food Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Saturday briefed the press about a few important decisions taken in a recent cabinet meeting.
Chowdhury emphasized that these decisions reflect the government’s commitment to improving employment opportunities and working conditions for various categories of employees in the state.
The Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT) will publish the final results for 2,500 Group-D posts on September 7 or 8, 2024. This decision was ratified in the cabinet meeting held on Friday, said the minister.
He added, “Additionally, the cabinet has approved the filling of 916 constable vacancies (both male and female) under the Home Department”.
Minister Chowdhury mentioned that the exams for 1,000 constable posts have already been conducted, and the recruitment process for these positions will be completed soon.
Following this, the recruitment process for the new 916 constable posts will commence, he added.
“The cabinet also decided to create 51 different categories of posts under the Department of Tourism, including positions for Engineers, Computer Assistants, Group-C, and Group-D employees. Furthermore, it was decided to appoint 8 Senior Informatics Officers (Group-A) and 1 Lower Division Clerk under the Department of Information and Technology. The recruitment for Senior Informatics Officers will be conducted through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC), while the Lower Division Clerk will be recruited through JRBT”, he added.
Speaking about another major decision, the food minister said, “The cabinet has approved an increase in the salary of Special Police Officers (SPOs) working under the Ministry of Home Affairs. As a result, SPOs will now receive a monthly salary of 12,000 taka, benefiting 3,776 SPOs across the state”.
Additionally, the wages of pump operators working in 19 municipal councils and 1 municipal corporation have been increased.
The Pump operators associated with Iron Removal Plants (IRP) will now receive a minimum wage of 7,500 taka per month, while non-pump operators associated with IRP will receive a minimum wage of 7,000 taka per month, he said.
