Agartala, Sept 07: In a boost for rail connectivity in Tripura, the Agartala- Sealdah Kanchanjunga Express train service has been extended up to Sabroom in South Tripura.

The proposal to run an express train from Sabroom was made by the state government and the Railway Board accepted it.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha shared the update on his social media handle and extended gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

As per the official notification, the Railway Board has approved extension of train no- 13173/13174 SDAH-AGTL-SDAH Kanchanjunga Express (4 days/ week) up to Sabroom.

The Northeast Frontier Railway has been asked to make all necessary arrangements for the extended train service.

The extended train service is expected to strengthen the rail connectivity in South Tripura, Gomati and Sepahijala districts and largely benefit the people.
