Agartala, Mar 20: Twipra Students Federation, an NESO-affiliated students’ body of Tripura, on Thursday announced an indefinite strike from March 21 (tomorrow), with the demand of Kokborok question papers for board exams framed in Roman Script.
According to TSF leadership, despite assurances for dual-script question papers in both Roman and Bengali scripts, the Board issued the papers only in Bengali, causing confusion among students during the board exams.
“A lot of students submitted their answer sheets blank as they couldn’t understand the questions. We have spoken to students and parents who are extremely worried about their results,” said TSF General Secretary Hamalu Jamatia.
The Class X Kokborok exam was held on March 17, while the Higher Secondary exam is scheduled for March 21. TSF demanded the rescheduling of exams with dual-script question papers to ensure fair opportunities for all students.
Jamatia asserted that the strike would continue until the government gives a firm commitment to resolve the issue.
