Life cft: Face authentication facility for aged

New Delhi, Jul 30: Aged pensioners who find it difficult in getting their bio-metrics (fingerprint and iris) captured due to old age for filing the life certificate can now use face authentication technology.
The EPFO on Saturday introduced the facility for its over 73 lakh beneficiaries.
Union Minister of Labour and Employment Bhupender Yadav, who heads the Central Board of Trustees of the retirement fund body, launched the facility which can be used anywhere.
The CBT, EPFO's apex decision making body, in its 231st meeting gave in-principal approval for centralised disbursal of pension for further improving the EPFO services for pensioners, the labour ministry said in a statement.
Yadav also launched a pension and employees deposit linked insurance scheme calculator providing online facility to pensioner and family members to calculate the benefits of Pension and Death Linked Insurance Benefit for which they are eligible.
