Agartala Feb 29: Acting on a tip- off, police of Madhupur police station seized two bikes that were meant for smuggling to neighbouring Bangladesh.

Briefing the reporters in this context, police official of Madhupur Police Station said, “We had information from sources that two bikes would be crossing Kaiyadhepa border for being smuggled to neighbouring Bangladesh. Accordingly, we chased the bikes on Wednesday night and with the help of the locals seized the bikes”.

However, no one could be arrested as they eloped from the spot sensing the presence of police, he added.

The recovered bikes bear numbers TR 01 W 6460 and TR 01 L 8270.

Police officials added that they are investigating the owners of the bikes or if any missing dairy has been lodged regarding the same.
