Agartala Jan 24: West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to arrive in Tripura for 2-day state visit in view of the assembly elections.
Addressing the reporters in a press conference at the TMC party office here in Agartala, State TMC president Pijush Kanti Biswas said, “TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee will arrive in Agartala on February 6 evening and will spend the night here. She will visit the Tripureshwari temple in Udaipur on February 7 and later address a mega campaign rally of the party in capital city”.
“The rally will kick start from Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan and will cover major routes of the capital city. Later returning back to Rabindra Bhavn Mamata Banerjee will deliver her speech for the people of Tripura”, he said.
Besides, TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee will also arrive the state on February 2 next.
Banerjee will hold rallies in Dharmanagr and Sonamura on his visit. In his nxt visits till the time of elections, several other programs of the party will be attended by Abhishek Banerjee, he added.
TMC state president Pijush Biswas further said that other top leaders of the party and celebrities will also visit Tripura till the time of polls.
Talking about announcement of candidate list, Pijush said, “The party received 129 applications for nominations and a final tentative list has been prepared after a meeting with top leaders of the state in presence of TMC MP Susmita Dev, TMC State in-charge Rajib Banerjee and other block level leaders. The list has been sent to the High Command and after approval and final changes the same will be announced soon”.
He added, “Observers have been appointed for each block who are going to work and control election campaign in this period”.
Speaking to the media persons, TMC in-charge for Tripura Trinamool Congress Rajib Banerjee said, “The arrival of Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee to Tripura will boost the party’s spirit in the time of crucial polls”.
TMC MP Susmita Dev among other leaders also remained present at the press conference.
