Agartala Jan 20: In the past 25 years of governance, the Left Front government and Left-run AMC did nothing for the development of the capital city and the city dwellers, said Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder.
Saturday, responding to the repeated requests and complaints of locals residing in Ghosh Para area under Ward No. 36 of AMC, the Mayor Dipak Majumder paid a visit to the spot to take a note of the ground situation and assured necessary action at the earliest.
Speaking in this context the Mayor said, “Because of the irresponsible role of the previous Left government, no renovation work has been done in the area. Because of lack of maintenance of the drains and the road, the area gets flooded with little rain and water accumulates in the residences”.
“Starting from the beautification of the city, development of various civic services and creation of new infrastructure, the Agartala Municipal Corporation is working on multifaceted plans for the welfare of the city dwellers. And all these have been possible because of the present BJp-led government and generous spirit of the chief minister”, he said.
Majumder further claimed that the amount of developmental work done by the BJP-led AMC in the past two years is highly commendable compared to the 25 years of Left government in Tripura.
He also assured the locals to start the renovation of roads and drains in the area at the earliest so as to ensure that the water logging problem is solved.
Corporator Neetu Guha, Janhvi Das Choudhury among others accompanied the Mayor during his visit.
