Agartala Aug 15: Commemorating the 78^th Independence Day, Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Dipak Majumder ceremoniously hoisted the national flag at the AMC Office premises on Thursday.

Apart from the Mayor, AMC Commissioner Sailesh Kumar Yadav, Corporators of different Wards under AMC and other officials of the department remained present.

Addressing the program, Mayor Dipak Majumder highlighted the significance of this day and remembered the freedom fighters who laid down their lives to gain this independence.

He also said, “In the recent years, the Agartala City has seen drastic changes. The AMC in collaboration with the state government under chief minister Dr Manik Saha is tirelessly working to ensure all necessary benefits and facilities for the city dwellers”.

Majumder urged the citizens to be more responsible and ensure a clean and green environment near them.

This will help to build ‘Ek Tripura Srestha Tripura’, he said.
