Agartala Jan 17: Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for construction of open gym near Ramnagar Raoad no.1 under AMC Ward No. 16.

Speaking on the occasion Mayor Dipak Majumder said, “The present state government and AMC is committed for overall development of the city. Not only development in all terms but the AMC is looking up to the issues of availability of all sorts of amenities for recreation and beautification of Agartala”.

“This open gym will be built at a cost of Rs 20 lakhs approximately that will attract youths for body building and sports activities following which they will restrain themselves from addiction of drugs”, he said.

The open gym will work towards achieving state governments’ goal of ‘Nesha-Mukt’ Tripura, said Dipak Majumder.

Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta, Corporator Tushar Bhattacharjee among others remained present at the program.
