Agartala Feb 20: In a significant operation based on a tip-off, the Melaghar police station successfully recovered a substantial quantity of dry cannabis from the deep jungle of Taibandal Neoramura.

Acting on the intelligence, police believe that the cannabis was harvested from the field approximately 10-12 days ago, dried, and then hidden in the dense jungle with the intent to smuggle it during the late hours of the night.

Speaking to the reporters, OC Debashish Saha of Melaghar police station said that the market value of the recovered cannabis is estimated to be over Rs 3 lakh.

The police official informed of investigating the source of the cannabis and individuals involved in the smuggling attempt, aiming to curb the illegal drug trade and maintain public safety.
