Gandacheera Nov 23: Narikel Kunj was a little-known area during the Left Front regime. However, with the initiative of the BJP-led government, Narikel Kunj transformed into a popular tourist spot, commented BJP leaders of Raima Valley in a press meeting at Raima Valley on Wednesday. The statement while the BJP leaders refuted the allegations of CPM relating to the development of Narikel Kunj. During a party programme at Narikel Kunj ADC village, CPM blamed the BJP-IPFT government for ignoring the development of the area.

Refuting the allegation, Raimavalley Mandal president Samir Ranjan Tripura of BJP along with the party’s Dhalai District vice president and vice chairman of Dumboor Nagar block Bikas Chakma highlighted several initiatives taken by the incumbent government.

Samir Ranjan Tripura said, “Narikel Kunj remained an obscure land to people of the State during the Left Front regime. After BJP came into power, Narikel Kunj emerged as a noted tourist spot for the people of the State and country. In this connection, Samir Ranjan also mentioned the recently inaugurated Log Huts in Narikel Kunj, the introduction of speed boats, water scooty and Helipad ground etc were done with the initiative of the present State Government.

“There was no electricity during the Left Front regime – However, the BJP government extended the electric facility in the area”, Samir Ranjan said.
