National Sports Day celebrated in the state

Agartala, Aug 29: On 29th August, Monday, National Sports Day was celebrated in the indoor hall in the morning by Tripura Sports School.
International cyclist Triyasha Pal from Kolkata was the chief guest on this occasion and lit the lamp. Sports Secretary Prasdip Kumar Chakraborty, Principal Subikash Debbarma, Vice Principal Paimong Mog, Olympian Deepa Karmakar, former athlete of the school and Sprint Queen Madhumita Deb who was called to the World Undergraduate Championships, Assistant Headmistress and Co-principal Shantanu Sutradhar and others were present. Hockey wizard Dhyan Chand's birthday was on Monday. The guests who were present explained the significance of this day one by one. Triasha Pal discussed the success of women in international sports. At the end Pranab Akhand conducted the funny game and enjoyed the morning. The assistant headmistress of the school thanked everyone for the successful completion of the event.
However, the sports department could not organize the hockey match as a tribute to him on whose birthday National Sports Day was celebrated. Meanwhile, the day is observed with due dignity in the South district as well. Apart from Belonia, various sports competitions were organized in Sabroom and Shantirbazar subdivision.
