Boxanagar Aug 27:  A health fair was held at Boxanagar Social Health Center on Saturday. The health fair was inaugurated by Tripura State Program Officer Dr. Arup Roy Barman in presence of Boxanagar Social Health Center In-charge Dr. Shyam Debbarma.

Under the supervision of 8 specialized doctors the mega health fair was held with an aim of reaching out to the last person of the society.

The main objective of the health camp was to raise awareness about cancer among people because the number of cancer patients has increased dramatically in the state of Tripura

Besides, various tests including screening tests for diabetes, hypertension, blood pressure, blood stool, etc. were also conducted.
Later, medicines for various diseases were distributed free of cost to the patients.

A total of 300 patients from different places were given free treatment and medicine.

Also, provision was made for renewal of Ayushman cards. Free family planning advice was provided, and there were various other topics in this fair.

Dr. Shyam Debbarma, the doctor in charge of Boxanagar Health Center, said it is a novel initiative of the state government so that people can easily avail health services.

He said that in order to save people from various diseases, people from all walks of life should be made aware.

He advised the Asha workers under the Boxanagar health department especially to convince the people to keep themselves and their surrounding clean.
