Agartala Jan 26: More than 70 percent of the people of Tripura are depended on agriculture and trade for their livelihood. So, the state should continue efforts to develop these areas. Likewise, we should continue our efforts to make Tripura a great state by increasing our participation in health, education and sports, said Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya as he hoisted the national flag on the eve of 74th Republic Day celebrations at Assam Rifles grounds, here on Thursday.
Chief Secretary JK Sinha, State Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan, Advocate General Siddharth Shankar Dey, senior officers of Central and State Governments and senior officers of State Police were present on the occasion.
The Governor congratulated the people of the state and the armed forces and said, “Today is a very important day for us. Because on this day that is 26 January 1950 when the Constitution of India was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly under the leadership of Bhimrao Ambedkar and India emerged as a sovereign democratic republic. Our constitution says to provide an environment of justice, freedom, equal rights and fraternity to the citizens of our country”.
BSF, Assam Rifles, TSR, Women TSR Platoon, Tripura Police, Women Defence Force, Forest Platoon, Home Guard Force felicitated the Governor at the state level celebration of 74th Republic Day organized at Assam Rifles Ground.
Besides, NCC Boys and Girls, Scouts and Guides, Civil Defence and Assam Rifles Public School also participated in the parade.
Commandant Ranaditya Das of No. 12 TSR Force led the parade. Assam Rifles stood first in the security category of the parade, TSR First Battalion and Women TSR Platoon stood second and third respectively. Assam Rifles Public School stood first in the non-security category. NCC Boys and NCC Girls were second and third respectively.
On the occasion of Republic Day 2023, the names of all police officers and police personnel who have been awarded various posts with the approval of the President were announced.
State Police Additional DGP Saurabh Tripathi is received the President Police Medal for Distinguished Service on this Republic Day.
Apart from this, Bhanupada Chakraborty (SP Crime Branch), Amal Debvarma (Assistant Commandant, No. 13 Battalion TSR), Kamal Shurya Das (DSP Security), Hemant Bisht (Subedar, TSR No. 3 Battalion), Manindra Vardhan (Subedar) received the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. TSR No. 3 Battalion) and Ashish Kumar Das (Sub Inspector). Ataur Rahman (Home Guard) and Sapna Dutta (Marak) (Female Home Guard) received the Home Guards and Civil Defence Medal for Meritorious Service.
On the occasion, Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya presented awards to all the police officers and police personnel who were awarded the President Police Medal and other police awards with the approval of the President of India on Independence Day 2020 and Republic Day 2022.
