Agartala Nov 19: The Heritage Fest 2024 promises to be a dynamic and enriching experience, fostering cultural exchange and unity among the people of the state.
State Chief minister Dr Manik Saha will inaugurate the 7-day long fair of Heritage Fest 2024 for the third time at Swami Vivekanand Maidan in Agartala.
Apart from this, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy and Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumdar along with other dignitaries will remain present at the opening day of the festival.
To address various aspects of the 7-day long program, a press conference was organized at the Agartala Press Club on Tuesday.
The press conference was attended by Debashish Majumder, president of Yuva Vikas Kendra, vice- president Panchali Debbarma, Secretary Pratima Debbarma, among others.
Speaking at the press conference today, the president said that the 7-day long fair will be attended by participants from different states of the country.
“Heritage Fest, an initiative of Yuva Vikas Kendra (YVK) in Tripura, is a week-long celebration of India's cultural heritage. Focused on promoting national solidarity and understanding among the youth, the festival brings together different states and neighboring countries to showcase their unique heritage”, he said.
Majumder further added, “The festival provides a platform for youth from different states and countries to interact, share their culture and build lasting connections. Each participating state presents their traditional dance, music and art forms, creating a vibrant display of India’s cultural tapestry”.
During the festival, YVK will organize the Tribal Expo as part of the Heritage Fest to promote local artisans and SHG groups.
“The Tribal Expo at the Heritage Fest at the Youth Development Centre is a great opportunity to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the tribal community of Tripura and simultaneously promote local artisans and Self-Help Groups (SHG)”, he said.
Overall, the 7-day long festival cum Expo aims to be informative, engaging, and vibrant, highlighting the diverse traditions and crafts of the artisans across the state.
