PM Modi sincere towards Janajati welfare, says Tripura CM

Agartala, Aug 18: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Friday felicitated the Samajpatis of various communities and said their role is important in the state's overall development.
The Chief Minister said, "Samajpatis of various Janajati communities play an important role in taking forward their own culture and tradition. The role of the Samajpatis is also important towards the goal of building 'Ek Tripura, Unnata Tripura'. In this view, our government has taken various steps to honour them."
He was addressing the inaugural session of a consultation workshop with the Pradhan Samajpatis of various Janajati communities at Prajna Bhavan.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister was gifted a Pagri (turban) and attire (Kamchouloi Borok) made of traditional Janajatiya Risa.
He said, various political parties used the Janajati people as vote bank for political gain for years. But, it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi who ended the trend and gave due respect to the Janajati people.
"The Prime Minister has been working for the overall development of the Janajati people and the present state government has also been giving the Highest priority to development of TTAADC areas in the same direction," Dr. Saha said.
Janajati Welfare minister Bikas Debbarma, Minister for Industries and Commerce Santana Chakma, Cooperative Minister Shukla Charan Noatia, MLA Mylaphru Mog, and various other officials were present.
