Agartala Feb 21: Aiming to create awareness and facilitate registration for various welfare schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PM-Surya Ghar), the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) organized a "Public Awareness and Registration" camp at the Central Zonal Office in City Centre on Friday.

This significant event was held in collaboration with the Tripura Electricity Corporation (TSECL) and Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission (TLUM).

Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Dipak Majumder, Central Zone Chairman Ratna Dutta along with other Corporators and officials of the concerned departments remained present at the event.

Addressing the reporters, Mayor Majumder hailed the Prime Minister for introducing several schemes for welfare of the people.

“Our Prime Minister is a visionary leader who always thinks ahead of the time. Likewise, our Prime Minister envisioned a future where people will have to depend on solar energy as energy sources like coal and petroleum are non-renewable and are getting exhausted. PM Surya Ghar Yojana will ensure free electricity and enable citizens to generate their own power”, he said.

During the program, three self-help groups were awarded a cash amount of Rs 1.50 lakh each, providing a substantial financial boost to their initiatives.

The "Public Awareness and Registration" camp aimed at educating the public about various welfare schemes and facilitating their registration process. The collaboration between AMC, TSECL, and TLUM ensured that the event was a resounding success, reaching out to a broad spectrum of the community and addressing their needs.
