Agartala, Mar 19: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday heavily came down on the double-faced people, who acted as BJP Karyakartas but worked in favour of the CPM-Congress alliance in the recently-concluded assembly polls.
Citing the poor results in Banamalipur and Agartala constituencies, Dr. Saha said, the Congress candidates secured victory in the two constituencies without having any organizational base or implementing any development works. He smelled something wrong in the poll results.
He was addressing an organizational programme at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala where the party Karyakartas of various levels were felicitated for their dedicated efforts in the assembly polls.
Even after implementing development works on a large scale and giving maximum benefits to the people, our margin was not satisfactory; it's a matter of concern, he pointed out.
Dr. Saha virtually held the double-faced section of the party responsible for the poor results in Agartala and Banamalipur seats and less margin in Bordowali constituency. He said that they would be identified and the party would treat them in an appropriate manner.
The energetic speech delivered by the Chief Minister in the programme received huge applause from the participants.
BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, senior party leader Jishnu Dev Varma, the cabinet members and other leaders attended the programme.
Later in a Facebook post, the Chief Minister mentioned that Karyakartas are the key strength of the party and based on their hardwork and dedication, the party formed the government for the second straight term.
The assembly polls yet again proved that only BJP could ensure overall development of both the state and the country. In this view, he encouraged the Karyakartas to further spread the BJP's ideology among the people and gift two seats from Tripura to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha polls of 2024.
