Agartala May 20: Opposition CPI-M on Saturday staged protest in front of the Police Headquarters demanding immediate arrangements for at least 31 families who are not being able to return to their homes since the 2023 assembly polls.
Speaking to the reporters, CPI-M Sadar divisional committee secretary Subhasish Ganguly said, “Since the day of poll, attacks started on the families residing in Vivekananda Abasan and Gorkhabasti area who were supporting the opposition”.
“Their only fault is that they were supporting the opposition and not the ruling BJP. It has been three months that those 31 families are unable to enter their homes”, he said.
The CPI-M alleged that no steps were taken by the administration to restore normalcy in the area so that those families can return back to their homes.
Ganguly further said, “NCC Police Station was informed about the entire situation. Even the ruling BJP leaders were also apprised of the situation. MLA Jiten Choudhury also wrote a letter over the issue but no step has been taken to solve the matter”.
CPI-M demanded the state government and concerned authorities to take immediate steps in this regard.
