Udaipur, Aug 28: Finance Minister Pranajit Singh Roy on Wednesday chaired a review meeting to assess the post-flood situation at Gomati district, where the natural calamity caused extensive damages affecting thousands of people.
A detailed discussion on the ways to tackle the post-flood challenges was held in the meeting in the presence of officials concerned.
Addressing the meeting, the Finance Minister instructed officials to prepare a list of those who have suffered losses to ensure that they receive government assistance promptly.
He also directed officials from various departments, including PWD, Drinking Water, Electricity, Agriculture, and Fisheries, to ensure timely delivery of government services to the affected people.
He also instructed the Chief Medical Officer of Gomati district to take necessary steps to prevent the spread of waterborne or other diseases.
The Finance Minister further emphasized the importance of proper supervision of the on-going relief camps, ensuring there is no shortage of drinking water and food. He advised the administrative officials to take necessary actions to quickly drain water from Dak Bungalow Road.
The meeting was attended by MLA Abhishek Debroy, chairperson of Udaipur Municipal Council Shital Chandra Majumdar, Superintendent of Police, Gomati district- Namit Pathak, and other officials from various departments.
Additional DM Binay Bhushan Das discussed the damage caused by the floods in the district.
