Agartala May 25: In a bid to pay homage to the national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam on his 124^th birth anniversary, preparations are going on in full swing across the state.

The Nazrul Kalakshetra in the capital city has been lighted up centering the occasion on behalf of the Information and Cultural Department, Tripura.

Starting with setting up of the stage for the major cultural event, idol of the revolutionary poet has also been cleaned and garlanded.

Nazrul Jayanti, the birthday of Kazi Nazrul Islam, a national poet of Bangladesh is celebrated each year on May 24.

He was a Bengali poet, writer, musician and is regarded as one of the greatest poet in Bengali literature.
