Agartala, Jan 23: Sangrain Dance, a traditional dance of the Mog community, will be performed by a troupe from Tripura during the national Republic Day programme at Kartavya Path in New Delhi.
A group of 101 artists from Sangrain Welfare Society will participate in the Sangrain Umbrella dance performance, group leader Raju Mog said on Thursday.
The troupe among 5,000 folk dance artists from across the country will also be seen performing in a separate programme in the national capital on the eve of Republic Day, he added.
On Thursday, the participants joined the full dress rehearsal stealing the show. They left the State on December 29 for Delhi.
According to Mog, this is for the third time in recent years that the Sangrain dance would be featured in the R-Day programme.
"Our mission is to participate in the prestigious dance presentation, a highlight of the Republic Day Parade 2025, to be held at the iconic Kartavya Path, India Gate, New Delhi. This spectacular event will be organized by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India", Mog said over telephone.
