Santirbazar June 22: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Janajati Morcha under Jolaibari Mandal organized a mega joining program at the Jolaibari Community Hall here on Thursday.

Around 700 voters from 276 families joined under the saffron flag at the day’s gathering.

Jolaibari assembly constituency was known as the stronghold of the Communist party since long time until the Bharatiya Janata Party led candidate won from the seat in 2023 assembly election.

Speaking at the joining program, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee said, the Jolaibari assembly constituency has been freed from the misrule of the Left by the tireless efforts of all the party karyakartas.

“Seeing the developmental works and programs of the state government that is working for the people of all sections, and being impressed by the welfare-oriented work of Jolaibari Assembly Constituency MLA and Minister Shukla Charan Noatia, those who worked in the opposition camp in the past are realizing their mistake and joining the development program of BJP”, said Bhattacharjee.

Earlier, a rally was organized at Jolaibari under the leadership of BJP Jolaibari mandal president Ajay Reang, BJP's Janjati Morcha mandal president Samanjay Tripura.

Later, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee handed over the party flag to around 700 defectors from 276 families and welcomed them to the party.

Besides the state president, Jolaibari MLA and Minister Shukla Charan Noatia, Minister Vikas Debbarma, Santirbazar MLA Pramod Reang, MDC Vidyut Debbarma among others remained present at the program.

Apart from discussion on various organizational aspects of the party, the senior party leaders held discussion to ensure victory of party candidates in view of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
