Teliamura Aug 02: Construction work of prime road in Vivekananda Nagar Village under Teliamura Block got completed at a cost of Rs 10 lakh. The long standing demand of the villagers was fulfilled with the construction of a new road built with colourful tiles in the area.
Reportedly, the main road of the rural area from Tuisindraibari Bazar area to Teliamura Higher Secondary school under Vivekananda Nagar Gram Panchayat in Teliamura block had become a death trap since the previous left period. The villagers of Vivekananda Nagar Gram Panchayat repeatedly knocked on the doors of the leaders in the form of verbal and written complaints to reform this main road, but nothing was received apart from promises.
About 300 families are permanent residents under this Vivekananda Gram Panchayat. And this road was their main means of travel. As a result, the school children, boys and girls, and the local villagers were victims of many accidents during their daily movement on this road.
Later in 2018, the villagers once again went to the Teliamura MLA Kalyani Roy and requested that this main road for the villagers' travel be renovated as soon as possible. Accordingly, MLA Kalyani Roy along with the current village head Nirmal Sutradhar promised to find out a solution to this problem of the villagers. Accordingly, the entire 2 km long road has been renovated with tiles. Not only that, a total of 50 solar system lampposts were also installed on both sides of this road for the convenience of local villagers to move in the dark of night.
The local villagers expressed satisfaction over the work of MLA Kalyani Roy and the BJP leadership in the area.
