Gandacherra, Jan 23: Miscreants struck on the Gandacherra-Ambassa road in Dhalai district, triggering panic among passengers. On Thursday evening, a group of masked robbers intercepted vehicles near Ganganagar and looted cash and gold from travellers. 

Following complaints filed at Ganganagar police station, officers conducted searches in the area, but no arrests have been made yet. The incident has reignited fear among residents, with many recalling similar highway robberies from the 1990s on this route. 

Local demands for intensified police patrolling, especially during night time, have grown louder as the attack highlights ongoing security concerns. 

The resurgence of such robberies on this key road has left both passengers and authorities worried. Police officials have assured the public of stricter measures to prevent further incidents and improve safety on the road. Investigations are underway to trace the culprits.
