Shishu Niketan School celebrates golden jubilee

Kailashahar, Nov 14: The Shishu Niketan School in Kailashahar has officially begun its year-long Golden Jubilee celebrations, marking 50 years of excellence in education on Thursday. The event was inaugurated with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Minister of Social Welfare and Social Education, Tinku Roy, along with former Congress Minister and MLA, Birajit Sinha and former CPI(M) Minister, Tapan Chakraborty.
Following the inauguration, a grand procession involving students, teachers, and local residents marched through Kailashahar’s main streets, celebrating the school’s legacy and achievements.
Former Health Minister Tapan Chakraborty presented a cheque of Rs. 50,000 to the school’s authorities for its development. Minister Tinku Roy spoke about the state government’s focus on educational development, underlining that Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has prioritized education as a key area for growth. Roy further mentioned that Rs. 30 crore has been allocated for the construction of new school buildings in Unakoti district.
