Agartala Sept 26: State Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma on Thursday inaugurated the 5th State Level EMRS Cultural & Literary Fest and Kala Utsav 2024, a vibrant celebration of creativity and talent organized by Tripura Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutional Society under the Tribal Welfare Dept, Govt. of Tripura.
The event highlighted the role of cultural activities in complementing academic studies.
Addressing the program, the Tribal Welfare Minister said, “It is truly an inspiring experience to witness the incredible performances and artistic expressions of the young participants”.
The minister encouraged the students to actively participate in cultural and sports activities, along with their studies, noting their supportive role in mental formation.
He also mentioned that the state currently has six Eklavya Model Residential Schools, with six more under construction.
The Kala Utsav, held at Dasarath Deb Memorial Hall in Suparibagan, featured music, dance, and drama competitions. Students from all six Eklavya Model Residential Schools in the state participated in the event.
The Minister expressed hope that these students would bring recognition to the state through their achievements in sports and culture.
Several other dignitaries including Subhasish Das, Director Tribal Welfare Department, Nagendra Debbarma, Director TRP and PTG Department, Anandahari Jamatia, Director TRNCIT among others also remained present at the program.
